Kid Rock

Tis the Season.....

Can't believe its already December. I would say that there is so much still to do before the holiday season arrives. But I would be lying. I guess it helps when you have to start the celebration in November. Because it actually helps you prepare better. So I guess i have to give a big thanks to my work. Anyway, I put my Christmas tree up before Thanksgiving. I even have a stocking and some garland hung. Presents and Christmas cards were bought. As a matter of fact, today is one of my days off, so while watching the Iron Man, I wrapped presents for my brothers and my dad. And I even got some of my Christmas Cards ready to be sent out tomorrow. Pretty much all i have to do before Christmas, is buy presents for my mom, my friend and her two little boys, and finish sending out Christmas Cards. I think its going to be easy this year. One of these days I will put some more up, maybe show you what my tree looks like. TTFN!!

8 months and counting

So I have realized that I have been living in Missouri for 8 months now and I'm still here. So yeah, it felt weird when I was back in the QC area for a week back in October. But I guess that is something that I will get used to. TTFN!!

Answer Machine Greetings.....

So I finally got an answer machine. It took me like 30 times to record a greeting. Its not very easy to choose a greeting. And I didn't like the way i was talking in some of them. SO it probably took me a good hour to record a greeting that I liked. I am sure that if my neighbors were home they probably would think that I am nutty. Anyway, I never knew how hard it would be to do a greeting on an answer machine. I wonder if i am the only one that has ever had an answer machine greeting problem. Who knows I just might be. TTFN!!

Fallen in Love with Ikebana

So I have fallen in love with Ikebana. Japanese art of flower arranging. The disciplined art form in which nature and humanity are brought together. Ever since I have been shown Ikebana, I find it to be absolutely amazing. I find it to be pure beauty and very simple looking. Its so fascinating to me. I love It!!

Books and More Books...............

I read a lot. I love books. I have so many books that I own, plus books that I have read that I wish I owned, I could start my own library or even a book store. I could pick up a book and probably read it all day and by the next day have it just about done. I wish that I had like a little nook so that I could just sit there all day and read. Reading is a passion. Kids that are forced to read something that they have little interest in, will grow up hating to read. What teachers should do or even parents is let the kids have there attention drawn to the book. Because you can't judge a book by it's cover. And if the book has an intriguing title that will draw them even closer to reading the book. I observed a lady once, she looked at a book, picked it up, put it back down, and walk away. And sure enough, she came back a few minutes later and did the same thing with the book. And then walked away. About five minutes later, she came back for the book and ended up buying it. I even asked her, how come you are buying that book, and she told me the name of the title and the bold colors made it sound interesting. So there you have it, Books are a good thing, All you have to do is pick one up and start reading.

My Living Room

I think that my favorite room in my apartment is my living room. And I Love my saucer chair. And my living room adds the most color to the apartment. And its exciting to have a coffee table. I don't know what it is, but something draws me to coffee tables.

Quilts can be great for Decorations

My mom made me this quilt panel for my living room. I absolutely LOVE It. It brings so much color and character to my living room.

Here is some Matt Nathanson

I love this song, I'm just glad that I heard it first from Sugarland because now I can listen to the original version by Matt Nathanson. Although it wont stop me from listening to Sugarland's version either.

Have You ever got Super Excited over something so little?

I don't know what has gotten into me lately. I was at Wal-mart the other day after work and I got super excited over some socks. They were Betty Boop ones, and I don't think that I have ever got excited over a pair of socks.

But I will tell you that I did get really excited over my coffee table. I have always wanted one, and now I have one.

Its been weird for me, the last couple of weeks. I don't know if it has been due to lack of sleep or too much coffee. I will get loopy and sometimes a little delirious. My co-workers just laugh at me. So I guess that I'm doing just fine.

This week I have had several things occur, I had a wooden cover to one of our registers fall on my head trying to change soda. A clock fell on the floor and i don't remember ever touching it. I had a lady run into me with a grocery cart at Wal-mart. Its just been one weird week.

That's all for now.....

My recent Addictions!!

So I drink way more coffee than I usually do. I love the new coffee mate creamers. So delicious. So I drink a lot of Ocean Waters from Sonic. And I'm not talking about the small ones either. The great big 44oz cups. I eat blue diamond almonds just about every day. And I'm so mad right now, because when I was in Texas at a Wal-mart they had a new flavor and our stores here only have French Vanilla Bean, and Sea Salt. I really like the Brown Sugar almonds, but no one here has them. Oh yeah, my friend got me onto eating Luna Bars. So I eat those a lot. At first I thought they would not taste very good, but they are actually decent.

I listen to some of the same music over and over again. Right now I listen to Sugarland's new cd all the time. Especially the song "Come On Get Higher". Oh and now I listen to more and more of Eva Cassidy. I put the Bleeding Love song on repeat yesterday for like two hours. My neighbor downstairs, probably thinks that I am crazy.

I have watched P.S. I Love You about a million times. Plus so many more of my movies that I can't resist watching.

Well Anyways, That's all I have for Now...

Sorry its been so long....

Well as you might already know. I now live in the Southwest Missouri Area. Its been great so far. I know it has been too long since i made a contribution to my blog. But August was the month I made my first steps back into civilization. I'm just now catching up on everything. TTFN!!

George Michael Part 2

George Michael

Freedom 90 is one of my favorites. I listen to it all the time. His music can get pretty much addicting, especially if you listen to it a lot.

Kitchen Chairs Part 2

So my kitchen chairs are definitely made over. As you might remember what they looked like before (very plain). But now they are perfect. They are going to be a great contrast to my plain white walls. I'm getting more and more giddy!! Today I had to call the electric company, it felt weird. Oh yeah, my car is finally in better shape. Brand New Window, its great. My car runs so much smoothly. And tomorrow I gotta go and get an oil change(first time i have ever had to do it, usually someone else will do it for me). I guess there is a first time for everything. Well thats all I got for this post. So enjoy my kitchen chairs.

Can't wait to see them in my apartment. 3 days left!! I can't wait any longer!!

Noodles, Noodles and More Noodles

I recently received a recipe book, called 101 Things To Do With Ramen Noodles by Toni Patrick. Which has some really great ideas of sprucing up the regular noodles. So probably from time to time I will be cooking from this 120 page recipe book. And since I will not have a Noodles & Company near me, it's the best I can do. But I just thought this had some really good recipes. So I think I will share some. So Enjoy!!

Taco Salad
2 packages of beef ramen noodles, with seasoning packets
1 lb of ground beef, browned and drained
1 large tomato, chopped
3/4 cup of chopped onion
2 cups of grated cheddar cheese
Thousand Island Dressing or Salsa
Cook Noodles in water according to package directions and drain

In a bowl, stir 1 seasoning packet into cooked beef. Add tomato, onion and cheese. Spoon mixture over warm noodles and drizzle with dressing or salsa. Makes 2-4 servings.

Cheeseburger Ramen
1/2 lb ground beef
1 pkg beef ramen noodles, with seasoning packet
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
1 tomato diced(optional)
In a frying pan, brown and drain beef. Season to taste with 1/2 of the seasoning packet.

Cook noodles in water according to pkg directions and drain. Add beef and cheese to noodles and stir until cheese is melted. Add tomatoes, if desired. Makes 2 servings.

Italian Chicken
2 pkgs ramen noodles, any flavor
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into chunks
1 cup Italian dressing, divided
Cook noodles as directed and drain. If possible, let chicken marinate overnight in 1/2 cup dressing.

In a frying pan, cook chicken in the dressing until golden brown. Drizzle remaining dressing on noodles and toss. Top with chicken. Makes 2 servings.

Brats 'N' Noodles
2 pkgs ramen noodles, any flavor with seasoning packets
4 bratwursts or cheddar wursts, sliced
Boil noodles and brats together. Drain and stir in 1 seasoning packet. Makes 2-4 servings.

Anyway that's just some of them. There are 8 different types of categories, Soups, Salads, Beef, Chicken, Pork, Seafood, Family Favorites and Vegetarian Entrees. So if your single or don't like to cook much this just might be the perfect recipe book for you.

Kitchen Chairs

So tonight, I decided that I was bored. And I needed to stir up some kind of action. Basically the only thing that I could think of, was doing the dishes. Its a pretty easy job to do, put the dishes in the dish washer, and some need to be washed by hand. But I couldn't believe that I was doing the dishes even if I was bored. But I did them, and it helped the boredom. But now, boredom has knocked on my door once again. So when I put my dog outside, I took some pictures of my kitchen chairs for my apartment.

The chairs have been sanded down, and now ready to be painted, and if I have time, I will try to put the finished makeover of the chairs on here. But I will tell you that the paint is a kind of chocolate brown color.

New Layout

Hope you like the new layout. I thought the other one was quite dull. Now I think its perfect, and adds a little more character to my posts. Everybody needs a little more color in their lives. So Enjoy!!

I forot........

Here are some pictures of what my couch looks like with a small makeover. I can't wait to get it into my apartment.

It's a beautiful day!!

The weather is finally warmer. But I think I remember being told that it would be cold with snow by tomorrow. So today is going to be taking a full advantage of the beautiful day. I would try to convey all my sentiments for today, but it would just take me all day, to try and fit that into this. Besides I don't want to bore you to the max. So here goes a small tribute for this post. Finally, some of the pressure that I have been under lately, has poked a tiny hole and is releasing itself in a timely manner. I have about 4 or 5 days left and Im getting giddy. Anyways, this post will be a short one, so that I can enjoy the beautiful weather we have today. TTFN!!

Just Plain Hectic

Since I started boxing stuff up. I feel like this picture. I never knew how much stuff could fit into one room. I just cant wait to get it into the apartment and get out of this cluttered room. Earlier I actually started getting a headache from all the boxes. I just want to get it all packed up and get moved in. As fast as I can!!

Thrift Store Shopping

As you know, I dont really like to shop. But this time it was important. I like going into thrift stores. Sometimes you can find interesting items. SO i sat down and had to think of furniture that i would need for my apartment. I knew that I had to find a couch or a some kind of chair. So I decided to look for a couch. Went to a few places, but had no luck. Then finally at the last one, we found the perfect one.
These are a couple of views. I bought some fabric to make a pillowcase for a body pillow. To make it a little more comfortable. The pictures were taken before the couch was shampooed. As you might be able to see some dirty spots. The couch will be good for me, it will add color to the white walls of my apartment and also add some character to my living room.

The Effects of Moving

So I have started packing up my stuff, to move into my new apartment. And boy let me tell you, it doesn't feel the same in my bedroom. So let me show you the effects of moving.

These are pictures of my closet doors.
This picture has like mini posters that I made of places all over the world, that i put on the doors.

Now without the Pictures, It makes it feel like all the personality of the closet doors are gone.

And without all my pictures on my walls and all of my books and other things boxed up, it feels like the personality of the room is gone.

Shopping

I rarely ever shop for clothes. Unless I really need to. And I rarely ever go to the malls here in our area. And if i do end up going to a mall, it would be more like window shopping rather than buying, just for something to do. Its more like, the shopping that I do is at the grocery store. Well, I went to one of the malls in our area, basically just to walk the mall for something to do. Well as I was walking, i passed one of the stores and right away something caught my eye. I usually never buy anything on impulse. But there was a top that just kept saying over and over, buy me, buy today, buy me now. And this was a huge impulse to buy this. And the worst part about my little impulse buy, is that it cost me $50.00. Usually i can get an entire outfit for $50.00, not just a top. I wonder how many other people spend so much money on just one small thing like that.

30 Days of Night

When this movie first came out in theaters, I wanted to see it so badly. But for some reason was never able to get around seeing it. Now its, I can't wait for it to be out on DVD!! If you have seen this movie, is it worth renting or even buying? My brother liked it, but of course, he likes movies with vampires and zombies. He is a Horror Fanatic. I just hope it's not too Scary.
